R v Keal [2022] EWCA Crim 341
The case: The appellant was convicted of three counts of attempted murder and sentenced to a hospital order under section 37 Mental Health Act 1983 with restrictions under section 41. He appealed against conviction on the ground that the trial judge erred in law in his direction to the jury in respect of the defence of insanity.
