1. Use of the Site

This website is provided by the EWI. Please read these conditions and disclaimers carefully before using the site. Your use of the site constitutes your agreement to abide by these conditions and disclaimers.

While the information provided on the site is to the best of our knowledge accurate and up to date we do not accept responsibility for the accuracy of the information.

EWI is not liable for any loss or damage to data or computer systems which result from use of this site.

2. Online purchases and payments

You can pay for various goods and services through our web store and though the website (including booking events and paying invoices) these include:

Application fees

These are non-refundable as is highligted when you apply for membership.

Membership fees

As per our Articles of Association, if you decide to leave EWI after paying your membership subscription for the year, you are not entitled to a refund.

Pre-recorded webinars / Digital Products

Once you have paid, you will automatically be granted access to the recording. For this reason, EWI will not provide refunds for Digital products.

Physical products (Eg Books)

You are able to return your item within 14 days and receive a refund. Where shipping applies, the product description will include details of any shipping costs and estimated delivery timescales.

Training and Events

  • Cancellations 14 + days prior to the event ~ a full refund will be given
  • Cancellations 7 - 14 days prior to the event ~ a 50% refund will be given
  • Cancellations within 7 days of the event ~ no refund will be given
  • Please note, any delegates who do not attend on the day will not receive a refund. Access to the event will be denied if payment in advance has not been made. 
  • The EWI reserve the right to cancel any event with a minimum of 3 days notice and will provide a full refund to delegates.

Payments made on the website

When you submit your card details via the online payment screens on the website, you can expect your card to be debited immediately.

3. Non-Endorsement Policy

This site contains links to other sites, which EWI provides for the user's information and convenience only. EWI does not control or monitor these other sites, nor does their inclusion mean that EWI recommends or endorses these sites, the organisations or companies that run the sites or anything contained within the sites. We reserve the right to withdraw any of these links at any time.

If you wish to link to the EWI site, you must link to the Homepage, and we request you inform us that you are doing so by contacting EWI. You may not link to any other area of the site without prior written permission from EWI.  The EWI logo may not be used without prior consent. At our discretion, and at any time, we reserve the right to withdraw any permissions given to link to this site, and we are under no obligation to maintain current pages linked to a site.

This is the website of the Expert Witness Institute. The views expressed on this website are not necessarily the views of the Institute. Publication does not imply endorsement. Publication of advertisements on the website is not an endorsement of the advertiser or of the products and services advertised.

EWI is committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We do not sell or rent your information to anyone without your prior permission

  • Name, company name and job title
  • Contact information including email address
  • Demographic information such as postcode
  • Other information relevant to customer surveys and/or offers

What we do with the information we collect:

  • Internal record keeping
  • Improvement of products and services
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about new services or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email you have provided
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research or events notification purposes.  We may contact you by phone, post or mail.
  • We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests

EWI are committed to ensuring that your information is secure.  In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information collected.
