How to become a Certified Fellow
You will need to have been in membership of the EWI for at least a year to become a Certified Fellow.
If you are currently a Certified Member, follow the Fellowship upgrade process and you will be upgraded to a Certified Fellow.
If you are currently a Fellow, follow the Certification upgrade process and you will be upgraded to a Certified Fellow.
Otherwise, becoming a Certified Fellow is achieved through successfully completing an assessment process that provides recognition and validation of your Expert Witness work. The assessment is based on actual practice in real scenarios.
Becoming a Certified Fellow requires:
- Commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Commitment to the EWI and the profession
- Re-assessment every five years to revalidate practice and retain Certified status
The assessment:
- Builds on EWI membership vetting procedures
- Assesses all the core competencies required as an Expert Witness
- Evaluates excellence in:
- Rules and Regulations
- Report writing
- Expert discussions
- Giving oral evidence in court
- Considers your commitment to the profession and the EWI
