Modes of address in courts and tribunals

On the 1st December, the Lord Chief Justice and Senior President of Tribunals annouced changes in the modes of address in courts and tribunals.

 

From now on Masters, Upper Tribunal Judges, Judges of the Employment Appeal Tribunal, District Judges, District Judges (Magistrates Courts), First-Tier Tribunal Judges, and Employment Judges, should all be addressed in court or tribunal hearings as ‘Judge’.
