Help us map those working in the UK as Expert Witnesses

bySimon Berney-Edwards

We need your help to map those working as Expert Witnesses in the UK.

Initial research we have undertaken suggests that there are around 9,000 people in the UK undertaking expert witness work regularly and 24,000 who undertake cases infrequently but currently a clear profile of the workforce does not exist. We are interested in the views of all people working in the sector, no matter the number of cases you complete and your level of experience.

Please complete the short (5-10 minutes) survey to help us accurately map these sectors. Organised by the Expert Witness Institute, this research will help with advocacy targeting the government and judiciary, to develop relevant and robust policies, and to develop better and targeted services.

Have your say in this important research and be in with a chance of winning £200 in vouchers of your choice.

What will be done with my data?

Your responses will be held within EWI’s Microsoft Forms account. This is ultimately stored safely on Amazon Web Servers in the UK. Your responses will be anonymised for the purpose of analysis and combined with the data provided by all other survey respondents to produce a project report. Your anonymity is guaranteed - you will not be identifiable from this work. All the responses you provide will give us a clearer picture of the demography of the expert witness workforce in the UK, their average caseloads and their level of remuneration. This will help inform our advocacy and policy work.  You can find EWI’s Data Protection and Privacy Policies at www.ewi.org.uk/About/Our-Policies
