It is essential that all expert witnesses understand the legal framework and how their role as an expert witness fits into the English legal system, both historically and contextually. This interactive course is designed provide a comprehensive overview and insight into the UK’s judiciary and legal system, as judges increasingly become more demanding of expert witnesses.

  • The UK Constitution and a history of the English Legal System

  • Key court cases and reforms relevant to expert witnesses

  • Sources of law

  • The doctrine of binding precedent

  • The legal profession under the microscope
