Summary: Mr Smith completed a full Technician Apprenticeship with Alvis Ltd who sponsored him to complete his Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following qualification Mr Smith gained experience in industry with Coventry Climax and Rolls Royce, in 1980 he joining Strange, Strange and Gardner, he becoming a Partner in 1992 and Senior Partner in 2003.
Strange, Strange and Gardner provide consultancy advice to the legal and insurance professions together with local and national Government organisations, in the general field of engineering, occupational health, safety and welfare and transport matters such as traffic accident reconstruction. This involves the investigation of incidents, the preparation of expert reports and the presentation of evidence in Court. Mr Smith works within the Civil and Criminal justice systems, the latter usually being as a result of prosecutions brought by the Police or Health & Safety Executive.
